FCT welcomes a new direct container service from China operated by Torgmoll
First Container Terminal (FCT, located in the Big Port of St. Petersburg, part of the Global Ports Group) announces a new regular direct container service from China. The operator is Chinese transport and logistics company Torgmoll. [1]
FCT handled the first vessel call of the service on March 17, 2023. Vessel calls will be performed twice a month along Qingdao – Shanghai – Huangpu (Xinsha terminal) – St. Petersburg route. Five specialized container ships with an average capacity of 2,500 TEU are engaged on the route.
As part of the service, container block trains will be formed at the FCT site to send import goods to the stations of Moscow region. On the basis of FCT and Yanino Logistics Park (Global Ports inland terminal in the vicinity of St. Petersburg), empty container depot services will also be available to customers. Clients can pick up containers from the stock on their own, bring in export cargo for stuffing and organize empty equipment delivery using railway infrastructure of the terminals.
In 2023, in addition to the Moscow and Far East offices, Torgmoll will also open a branch in St. Petersburg.
